- The problem is that you subtracted rather than dividing! To take an example
- from the first part of the post, ".. the 5/300 (Alpha 21164/300) CPU ... is
- approximately: 51 times faster than a Pentium 90". This was apparently
- arrived at by subtracting 10 from 61. The correct way to calculate this
- example:

- If x is the number of times faster that Alpha model is than the A4000 and
- solving for y which is the number of times faster the Alpha is over the
- P90, then

- 10xy = 61x
- y = 61x/10x
- y = 6.1

- making the Alpha 6.1 times faster than the Pentium. Same method for the
- others.
