  48. The problem is that you subtracted rather than dividing!  To take an example
  49. from the first part of the post, ".. the 5/300 (Alpha 21164/300) CPU ... is
  50. approximately:  51 times faster than a Pentium 90".  This was apparently 
  51. arrived at by subtracting 10 from 61.  The correct way to calculate this
  52. example:

  54. If x is the number of times faster that Alpha model is than the A4000 and
  55. solving for y which is the number of times faster the Alpha is over the
  56. P90, then
  57.  
  58.         10xy = 61x
  59.            y = 61x/10x
  60.            y = 6.1
  61.  
  62. making the Alpha 6.1 times faster than the Pentium.  Same method for the
  63. others.
